Sequel to Being Brave

Jelena continues growing the Being Brave world as Illustrator for sequel to children's fiction novel Being Brave by Australian authors Hester Leung & Sema Musson. Being Brave Too is freshly published in 2020 after being in development over the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic period.

The novel is designed in the spirit of a positive, inspirational read for girls in their pre-teen and early-teenage years, as well as a personal development guide for young women.

Jelena develops the characters of the first book (while introducing some new ones) and expands the style of the world to encapsulate darker themes like the horrific Australian bushfires of the summer of 2019. Staying true to the watercolour aesthetic, the new palette broadens its appeal to older age groups.
